Follow the instructions given to you by your physician. If you have any questions, be sure to contact your physician.
- Be sure your physician is aware if you are taking aspirin, aspirin-containing products, iron or Vitamin E.
- Wear casual clothing that you can store in a clothing bag. We will provide a patient gown, and slippers for your procedure. Leave all jewelry and valuables at home. (This includes watches, necklaces, bracelets, MP3 players and other electronics. Please be sure all cell phones are turned off.)
- Please remove nail polish off at least one finger on your right hand prior to arriving at the Endoscopy Center.
- A nurse will be contacting you within a week of your procedure to confirm the date and time and to review your medical history. If you are not available by phone, please contact us between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. within the week prior to your procedure.
- Arrange for a ride home. A responsible person must accompany you home as you will be recovering from sedation. If you do not have someone to take you home, please let us know and we will assist you in making suitable arrangements as you will not be permitted to drive or go home alone in a taxi.
- Bring your insurance and any other medical ID card(s) with you.
